Please some one guide me...one 6 inch cake means its the size of the inner sponge cake or it is the size of final cake(sponge plus frosting)...

Kindly help..i am really confused...

The sizing of cakes is based on the baked cake and does not include added decorations or frostings.  So a 6 inch cake is cooked in a 6 inch pan.

yes and will measure between 5.5" or 5.75" -- before icing

As K8 pointed out  baked and cooled cakes will shrink some and end up around 5.5" before adding any icing/decorations.
