How Long Will A Fondant Covered Cake Last?

My daughters school are having a Christmas bake sale this Friday (1st) I'm making a cake which is covered in a layer of fondant and has fondant decorations. Ho long realistically will the cake last? I was planning to cover the cake today and store in a cardboard box and then decorate it tomorrow. Will that be OK? X

Usually most cakes will stay fresh about 3-4 days.   I have kept cake in the frig - just in a plastic bag - for more than 10 days and found it still good but not as moist as it was to begin with.
