Has anyone made a 3 tiered wedding cake from brownie and pound cake rather than traditional vanilla cake? I am just wondering how they will settle once I stack. Any input or advice would be helpful..TIA!

I have made 100s of them using this simi-pound cake recipe:  https://www.cakecentral.com/recipe/7445/the-original-wasc-cake-recipe

I would think brownies would work just as well - of course dpending on what recipe was used.   This is probably something you are going to have to test out yourself.

yes test as lynne already said  -- you want to be sure that the brownies will cut and serve well - brownies can be too fudgey for their own good sometimes

I've done lots of pound cakes as wedding cakes.  And chocolate mud cake. As kakelady and K8memphis have stated, I'd test your brownies before using as a wedding layer. Not everyone would lime the chewy/fudgy consistency.

jchuck I have to smile at your statement that not everyone would like chewy/fudgy brownies.......the same statement is true of most any food LOL.

Your very right Lynne. I adore brownies, but know a few that really don't like that chewy texture. Actually, one young lady I know doesn't like chocolate "anything"   cake, hot chocolate, chocolate bars, etc. Finds revolting. Actually, a rarity, she doesn't even like anything sweet, including cake.  Lucky her!! No sweet cravings. Just a popcorn fanatic.

If you're looking for something that is brownie and pound cake-like with a bit of a more cakey texture, these are my favorite variations. They are the ones that I go back to again and again. They stack beautifully too. Ignore the frosting associated with the recipes; they are too soft for stacking. Pick your favorite stable buttercream to marry them with.
