Do you replace the oil from your recipes when making cake pops? I saw somewhere to replace it with melted butter so the sticks don't yellow, what is your experience?

I keep my recipes the same when making pops, and have never had an issue with the stick turning yellow. I've got 3 recipes that call for oil, and I don't sub for butter.
