Not Happy With Quality Of Own Work

Hi everyone,
just wanting to get some advice. I have a delivery due of some iced biscuits with some hand writen gold calligraphy writing on it. they are exactly as the customer has ordered, however I am not happy with the quality. I normally pride myself to a high standard and I do not feel as though my product is all that great.
the busicuit as too much wording on it, which has caused the caligraphy to be small and a little messy/ busy. in hindsight on consultation I should have tried to ask the customer to reduce the amount of wording on each biscuit and explained why. hindsight right?
I do not have enough time to redo the entire batch. do i offer the customer a partial refund explaining that I don't believe the quality is at its best? or do I try to pull an all nighter to re-do the biscuits, or do I just deliver them and hope for the best?
Deliver them. We are always hard on ourselves when we don't feel that we have put out our best, however, I wouldn't offer a refund for no reason. You may not feel like they are your best, but I'm sure the customer is going to like them. Don't be so hard on yourself, we all have good days and off days!
As ypierce82 said, we are our won worst critics. DO NOT! offer a discount. Do not re-do. Just offer them and let the customer oooohhhh and aaawww over them as we all know she/he will. If and Only IF the customer seems unhappy should you consider offering a coupon good for a free or reduced next order.
I love that you take so much pride in your work. This says a lot about you and your work ethic. But I agree with the others (even though its late and you have probably already delivered the item) about not giving a refund. Sometimes I really am not happy with something and notice every little flaw, but after walking away from it for awhile, I come back and think, "Huh. that's really kind of nice." Hope that happened for you! At any rate-- keep caring!!
In this instance, you are not happy with your work because you did as your client requested. It may not be your idea of a great design, but I bet it is hers! Just go with it and be happy you were able to do as she requested.
Any chance of showing us a photo of the biscuits? I am sure they actually look really good and you are just being hard on yourself :-)
I am glad I only ever do stuff for family because I am so hard on myself and see every flaw in every cake, I don't think I could handle the stress of trying to perfect things for customers.... the last cake I did for my Grandma she loved it (And trust me she can be brutal haha) and couldn't wait to show anyone who came by her room (she is in an assisted living facility) and tell them how clever I was but all I can see are the ugly bits and I haven't even posted it to my facebook gallery lol.
I also agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, if it was her design I am sure she loves them every bit as much as you dislike them, hope all went well for you on delivery.
