I have a big wedding order next week, this venue is a barn with sawdust floors and no air conditioning! Setting up ahead of time....how in the world will I keep dust off the cake? Four tiers, grooms cake 2 tiers.... It's still really hot here so I don't think I could cover them with anything, they would probably sweat! I'll be so glad when this barn craze is over!

I guess you could lightly drap long pieces of wax or parchment paper over the cakes.  Seems to me if you choose to get married in a barn and serve your cake in said barn, you are not overly concerned about dust in the first place.

In my opinion what Sandra said at the end of her post is right on!  People have to consider location & what can happen when they arrange such events at places like this.  You just advise the bride (& her family) that once you deliver/set up you no longer are responsible for the cake. [Unless there are Major! problems like it falling - heaven forbid :)]  If the family wants you to you could use one of those very light plastic 'paint drop cloths' they are light like a plastic table cloth but clear.
