I know a lot of people don't like low carb diets, but it worked wonders for me. first I did atkins and now south beach. Never tried WW, but I heard wonderful things from that "way to eat"

Congrats Esther! That is so awesome!!!

Pandora - I can guarantee that loss will not be there tomorrow. I find that if I weigh myself daily, I eat better. So today it was down, but that happens...it's all over the place. I know that is why it is not recommended to weigh daily, but for me, I have to...We'll see what it's at tomorrow!

Got on the scale icon_cry.gif 170 lbs. Heaviest I have ever been without being pregnant. Hoping to get down to 145.

Feeling hungry and only have 4.5 points left for the day. Rummaging through the cupboards for a snack that won't put me over points for today (unlike the last two days icon_sad.gif

This is so cool! icon_smile.gif

I haven't been online for a couple of days. Remember the birthday party I was baking a cake for when I asked about the cake filet- well long story very short, I fell at the party and tore the ACL in my right knee. OUCH!! I go in Wednesday for an MRI to confirm it, but the doctor is pretty sure that is what happened.

Anyways, I LOVE the little progress bars that so many of you have posted from 3FatChicks.com!! But I went to the website and snooped around a little- couldn't find how to get one for myself. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Until then, icon_cry.gif I weighed in at 244 last Wednesday night. I've had kind of a rocky start so far, but I do think I've cut back on portions this week. I feel starving, so I sure hope I'm doing something right. LOL (I'd hate to think I am suffering for nothing! icon_confused.gif )

HI Stogz!

boy do you have that right! Two cute and I mean very cute!!! little boys...

I am so frustrated with my weight. I have never been overweight before and couldn't really understand the whole weight thing and people on diets and if they just eat right etc....BOY HAS THIS COME TO BITE ME IN THE BUTT!!
I am very concerned with my "belly". I have a little extra weight on my legs and such not much but it all seems to be in my belly. I'm sure if people didn't know better they would think I was 4 months pregnant. I'm very scared that I'll have excess skin because my belly was sooooooo big when I was pregnant. Even when I was pregnant I didn't look pregnant from behind but when I turned around look out! and to top it off I had a C-section so don't know if my belly will ever be the same again.....I keep telling my husband that once I lose the weight I'm having a tummy tuck LOL! He doesn't see a problem....
Now don't go thinking I wear belly shirts and not that there is anything wrong with that because if I had my time back I might have exposed a little more skin and if you can wear a belly shirt all the power to you and I would be very jealous, it's just the whole fact that I CAN"T wear a belly shirt if I wanted to.....
I'm tired of sucking it in all the time lol!
I hope some of you can empathize with me.....

Hi everyone,

I am so glad to see so many of you here!!!! Cathy I'm with you about snacking....If I'm not careful that's what messes me up for the day. I always have apples around...not my favorite but they are only 1 point, and the light lays and ruffles they are only 1 point as well for a 15-20 chip serving. I have also been known to eat instant oatmeal with spray butter, cinnamon and Splenda....not my favorite, but filling. Be sure you buy only light bread (I get Earth Grains or Sara Lee Delightful)...you can have 2 slices for 1 point. Nature's Own Sugar Free Buns are also only 1 point. I bought sugar free jelly and sometimes a jelly sandwich curves my sweet tooth.

If anyone else has some good food tips please share!! It is so helpful to know some good snacks and things to have around. Another tip tht helps me: Always have a good low point snack around so you don't end up eating something that will throw you off the entire day!!

I weighed in at 246. A total weight loss of 18 pounds. Not on any special diet. My son and his wife are on LA weight loss. They were married by the JP 3 years ago and are finally having a big wedding the end of May 2006. So we all are trying to lose weight . Its like a game of who can lose the most by then. But we are all doing it healthy no crash diets. My downfall is CHEESECAKE . It cant be in the house at all. Since I started making cakes I really dont eat them anymore. Now that the weather is getting really nice I can go back to taking walks everyday. Wish I had aan adult walking buddy. I usually take my granddaughters walking with me . If Im pushing the stroller I seem to walk for longer periods of time. I've also started the WALK the Walk DVDs with Leslie Sansone. Good luck to everyone this week.

I personally don't go to ww, but how to they count nuts into the points scale? Reason I am asking is because nuts are a complex carb and they say complex carbs take longer to digest therefore making you less hungry. They also say that some nuts- like almonds- are good for you to have a small serving of them everyday.
Also one thing that I have found that works the best for me for keeping off my weight and keeping it steady is to eat smaller meals more frequently and to eat the bigger meals during the day (when you are more likely to be busy) and eat small dinners at night (when you are less likely to be active). Doing this has also kept my acid reflux at bay....worked for my husband too. icon_wink.gif
Also portion control, restaurants these days give out such big meals, when going out to eat try splitting a dinner plate with someone, or (as I have done in the past) order off of the kiddie menu.
AND the biggest thing is exercise, it's good for your heart (heart disease is a big killer among us women because so many of us don't realize we have it) even it means just walking around the block once every day- it's still exercise. Park farther away from the door when you go out shopping. If you live close enough for you kids to walk to school, walk with them or ride your bikes there.
We're here to support everyone!

twin dees, my DD is nineteen months and I have about 20 pounds still on me. When I gave birth to my son seven years ago... I didn't lose the weight for 3 YEARS! It doesn't have to happen tomorrow. Set a small healthy goal each week and within a month your will have changed your habits in four tremendous ways. You won't believe the difference it will make! My goal this week is to me the most important aspect of weight loss... WATER!!! I am vowing to drink as much water as I possibly can each and every day. It is suggested that you take your weight (165) and cut it in half (82.5) and drink that many ounces of water every day. I did this along with my diet when I was anticipating my wedding day and I lost 33 pounds in about 5 months. I wasn't the strictest dieter either. I let myself indulge every so often. I think that is what kept me from giving up. I let myself have fast food once in a blue monn without beating myself up!

Good Luck!

Here it goes. My first weigh in. It was rather dificult yesterday, the first day (well, half day) on the diet. I feel I accomplished a lot though. After I ate all the points plus one by 1 p.m., I had to compensate by eating a 1 pt salad and a 0 point ice cream. By the way, those ice creams are great. They are called Philly Swirl and they are only 10 calories.

Please don't feel discouraged if you see how much I weigh now but I am a short person. My healthy weight should be at about 112 lbs., even though I haven't weighed that in decades. I am happy when I am 118-120 lbs., just shooting for 115 lbs since I know I am going to over eat during my vacation.

Hi all,

I am a WW online member. I have been on the program for almost a year now. I aam still not at goal wt but i know that i will get there someday (soon i hope!!)

I had my baby boy in july last year and I weighed at a whopping 180lbs after delivery!!! icon_sad.gif

My weigh in day is monday and i weighed in at 150 yesterday. I have been stuck at that for more than a month now. its very discouraging. But I exercise 5 times a week (stationary bike for 6 miles). I know that i haven't been eating good all the time but i know i do good 70 percent of the time. I am hoping to get over the 150 hump now.

My goal is to be at a healthy 130lbs ( I am 5'3"). i would like to be 120 lbs but i don't want to set myself up for despair.

thanks for listening! hope you all reach your goals successfully!!

take care
kirti
