It worked Jenn.. Isn't this a great post.. I am REALLY gonna try to stick to a good eating plan.. I am not saying "Diet "anymore.. I need to have a lifestyle change that I can live with.. I have lost weight so many times only to regain it all.. Diets work but I always end up going off them and regaining. So I'm not going on a "diet". I am just going to try to eat healthy food, cut down on the fat and all my snacking..and get off my butt a little more and walk and bike.

ok - now for my info on my weight: I'm 5'10" so I don't need to be really skinny...just back to a 12/14 or even a 16 for that matter!! lol All of my weight is from having my 3 kids...and "stress eating" while raising them & when DH & I started our business. Now I eat out of boredom or when I feel a little down, or just because I love cooking and eating. I admit it....I'm a food lover. Give it to me baked, fried, boiled, sauteed, whipped, grilled, steamed, mashed, creamed, simmered or wrapped & I'll probably eat it!!! hehehe I like everything...from steak to tofu and everything in between. And I live in the south...and ya'll know what that means.......FRIED ANYTHING is a staple! If a couple of days go by and you haven't eaten (or at least "tasted") something fried....they yank your "True Southerner" card and banish you to California! hehehe (no offense to you all from Cali - It's just that, culinarily, California to a Southerner means death to all things fried & all hail bean sprouts! lol) You know...the whole "California Cuisine" thing..... icon_confused.gif

I love being in the kitchen & my friends & family tell me all the time that I need to open a restaurant one day when my kids are older. I even have a little "dream book" of recipes, etc. for it, but all that taste testing has gone to my belly, hips, butt and thighs. Too bad fat doesn't travel vertically, say to my boobs!!!! hehehe And why is it that clothing manufacturers think that if you wear a size 20 or 22 that you have DDD breasts???? But that's a whole other conversation..... icon_razz.gif

This is great & the support is gonna be awesome for all of us! Thanks to whoever started it (I forgot...too many pages ago! icon_redface.gif )

Well I am only 5'4" so I really should be a lot less than my goal of 160 but I thought I'd start small so it would be easier to reach that goal and then I can set another one. I'm in the "over 50" age group so I don't want to get skinny.. Makes us look too old if we are too skinny . a little fat on the face is a good thing as we age..LOL
I posted a before pic in three fat chicks.. Hopefully I will be able to post an after pic too and be much slimmer in it.. This is gonna be fun I think.. This is the first time in quite awhile that I have been motivated to lose weight. I was so discouraged when I gained all my weight back after being on the WW online for over a yr. I quit paying for it and fell off the wagon..LOL

I think with all the encouragement we will get on here that it will be alot easier to stick with it. Thanks Berta for starting this post

Berta, did you use all of your weekly points? I use a couple everyday for the first 2 weeks until my appetite adjusts. Also, 5 points over is nothing for 1 day. You still counted them and you should be proud! It is natural to just mark a big X on that day with a sad face... but you didn't. You still counted your points! I'm proud of you! icon_smile.gif If you are following plan at LEAST 80 percent of the time over the long haul... you will do just fine. You can not deprive yourself otherwise you are setting yourself up for failure. So the chinese was a good thing. You still counted and got a fix! You can do this!!!

OK guys,
I have good and bad news. The good news is that I joined WW meetings last night with my sister and a friend. The bad news is my scale does not work. I stepped on the WW scale and I weighed a lot more than what my scale was telling. Time to buy a new one. I am not quitting, I am ever thankful for this support group. Here's my WWI:

I blew it yesterday. A friend I have not seen in quite a while invited me to lunch. We had Mexican, nacho supreme to be exact. I didn't eat the whole thing. Brought the leftovers home that will end up in the garbage. But then I made hamburgers for dinner. I fell in the tub so hubby came home from work to check on me. I was feeling sore so I sent him to the store to buy me beer. lol icon_smile.gif Not even light beer.

Needless to say I didn't even log my food intake. It would have been so depressing to see the calories add up. But, today is another day. RIGHT??

Everybody keep up the good work.

Sounds like we both had a bad day Cyndi!

I didn't use all of my reseve points, I like to pretend those aren't even there. I try to stay only on my daily points. I just hate to over eat because then I feel bad then I get cravings to eat more!! Crazy I know.

Today has been better. I have several orders for this weekend so I am busy...no time for food!!

Oh, Cyndi!

Mexican food and beer! My weeknesses! LOL! Just concentrate on 1 day at a time. Sundays are hard for me. We usually have a houseful for football and that means a spread of food and lots of beer. I drink the beer and munch on pretzels. I have to give myself that 1 day. If I didn't, I don't think I could succeed at a "diet." Hang in there!!!!!

To think Monday is my weigh in 8P Too bad I can't make a friday meeting instead.

whoo hoo 2 pounds already!!! I had to test the tracker before I replied to your post.
cakebybek, I cut copy and paste, then You will see in it the 3 weights. Your current weight is the last of the 3. just change that last weight and keep the rest of the addy the same.
I hope that made sense. Also I saved the addy as a notepad file in my documents on my pc so that I always have access to it. As you go, you can change your weight right on your notepad in windows. Hope this helps!

pandora, way to go!!!
flyvurdfun - wow 15 pounds, congratulations! How long have you been trying to lose weight?

I not only fell off the wagon but have gotten run over as well. I am afraid to weigh in tomorrow. I fought so hard to lose the almost 30 pounds that I did and now, it is just coming right back. And its not like I lost it fast. Two pounds a week. Sometimes a little more, sometimes a litte less.

Congratulations to all you who are doing so well.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

All my adult life....especially after I had my three kids...But as far as when and how I lose weight, my body will let go of weight on its own. all the excerise and good eating I do or did doesnt work for me. But when I hop on a scale for whatever reason, my weight is lower then before. I think its just that I lose muscle instead of fat. I dont look as solid as I once did, even at a higher weight. I have done everything I can, including every diet I have heard of literally...even the Navy had me doing special diets... nothing seems to work for me.
The weight I put down as a start weight was what I was three months ago... the weight I put that I am now is what I got weighed in at a few weeks ago... everyone tells me you have to eat to lose weight and thats my problem I dont.... no breakfast no lunch, and I pick at dinner, because I am not an active person, and the one thing I love is my starbucks coffees, and iced lattes but I drink maybe 2 a day. I am not hungry ever, I just snack. But lately I have tried to be more active...been riding my bike, doing yard work (digging and such) walking our dogs, so hopefully something will go... I cant do the normal excerises because I have bad ankles, knees, wrists and back...and I am only 40, so I can see what it will be like once I am older. But for now I can fit in my 18 jeans, I used to be size 20-24, but I have noticed my stomach has gotten so big. I look at my mom and what her mom looked like and I see me.... when I ask someone how much they think I weigh, or even a doctor trying to guess my weight they dont come close its always much less then what I am. Yes, I contemplated the bypass surgery, but so far its a no go. So I will keep trying the more active thing. So you other ladies that are losing it go for it, YOU can do it.... I know you can. you can see what I look like at this address, I am 55 pounds more now then I was then.....

flayvurdfun, you seem to have a postive attitude. And that is the best thing you can have. If you can lose weight without trying then keep doing what you are doing. icon_smile.gif

I have read that if you eat less than 1200 calories a day you just make your fat stick around. Your body thinks you are starving so holds onto everything.

That bypass surgery seems so dangerous - I guess you have to weigh all the health consequences of being over weight and the surgery and then do what is right for you.

I too have bad knees and have really been limited in my exercise since last Christmas. I can really tell that I am not as toned as I used to be.

At any rate, keep up the good work.

yeppers that is what I am told too...but to me even at that many calories I think it is too much food.... but when I do get my starbucks or iced lattes I do come around the 1200 calories...hmmm maybe I should drink more! icon_twisted.gificon_rolleyes.gifthumbsdown.gif nah...just joking...[/quote]

yeah, but you cant get it if you arent a certain weight over what THEY think your ideal weight is, and then to get the $$$$$ is the other thing, even though I heard the military will pay for the actual surgery. But a friend of mine as had the surgery, and now having problems getting all the extra skin taken off..... we only have a year left I dont have the time to play around like they expect you to...

Hi Guys!!

I wanted to tell ya that I know what your going through. I lost off 65 pounds and kept it off for a yearthen....yep you guessed itI got pregnant. Needless to say that I gained all my weight back and then some. I weighed 125 the day I found out was pregnant and the day I went into the hospital to have my baby girl I weighed 195. icon_cry.gificon_eek.gif ...about where I was when I first started my diet. I have lost some of it back off but still have a more to go.

I hope you dont mind.I wanted to give you a few words of encouragement and pass along a few things that I have learned. Every time I would start a diet I would give up after a week because I would see no change on the scale after that week.it took me awhile to realize that this is a slow process. It took me almost a year to lose the 65 pounds. So please dont get discouraged if you dont see it in the scale each week. The next week it will show some weight loss. Each person losses weight at different rates. Exercise is very important in weight loss. Now my baby is 9 months old and I cant just take off for a walk anymore.so baby girl and I set aside 30 minutes a day to turn off all the tvs.....blast the music and dance away. She loves it and I get to get my exercise in for the day. Any kind of exercise is a big help toward losing weight. I lost my weight with a low fat diet. Everyones metabolism is different so one diet that works one may not work for the other. So you might need to adjust your diet if it doesnt seem to be working for you. I try not to eat after 7:00 p.m. because your metabolism slows way down at night. If I do get hungry after that timeIll eat a piece of fruit.

If you have a bad day and stray off your diet dont give up!!! Everyone has a bad day but just pick up where you left off and keep going. I know you can do it!! thumbs_up.gif It really helps when you have friends, like here, that you can find support with and know what you are going through. Its a hard road to travelbut it is worth it. You will feel so much better!!

Hugs..~Denise

I weighed 212 this AM that is acutally 4 lbs lighter than about 2 weeks ago when I last weighed. I have been so busy with school that I have not had time to eat very much.
