hi all! i am making a lion head cake. i'll have a 9*13 cake as the first layer and two 10 inch cakes on top with the face of it in RKT (around 6 inch). i know i have to dowel the RKT head as it will be small and a concentrated weight on the cake but should i also dowel the two 10 inch cakes on over the 9*13? i'm afraid the weight of the rounds will squish the base cake. thanks in advance!
Yes you do and you also need to put each tier on it's own cake circle for easy moving and supports of course for your dowelling.
Wow, you did an awesome job!! Who ever got that cake had to have been thrilled!!! Job well done!!

Here is the finished product. I used a cake board and dowels to support the lion head
