Hey Everyone!

I have tried several red food coloring methods on my macarons. But the red always stains the mouth. I have also purchased red powder food coloring and it ends up taking too much powder. Does anyone know what could be useful for me to try?

I don't know either.  Red and black are terrible for staining mouths.

Red is a hard color to come up with w/o the problems you mention.   One thing that helps is to 1st tint the icing deep pink, yellow or orange - depending on the final shade of red you want.  Once that is accomplished add your red. It takes time for these deep colors  like red, blue, black, brown to develop try to mix up the color at lest the night before needing.    Have you tried using KoolAid? If the flavor dosen't hurt try getting the icing a nice red, a couple of shades lighter than you want, then add KoolAid powder - I always used the UNsweetened black cherry - mix well into the icing and store overnight.  When you 1st look at it there will be lots of dark spots - just mix it up well and it is good to go :)
