One of my co-workers is leaving soon and she really likes baking cakes and cupcakes so we want to get her a baking related gift. Problem is, she has a lot of tools already so we're not sure what to get her. What is something every cake decorator wants but doesn't want to buy for themselves?

If there are a few going in on the gift, how about an Agbay cake leveler?  I received one as a gift and love it!  The Jr version is like $150.00 and big enough for a hobby baker.

Maybe extra cake pans.  Round or square.  Magic Line is a good brand (stay away from Wilton pans).  Get a set of maybe 8", 10" 12".  Even if she has some it;s great to have an extra one......sometimes you want to bake 2 layers of the same size.  Then having extra tips is great.  Any number of tips from 1 through 199 would be nice.  Book by Nicholas Lodge if she is into making sugar flowers.  Make sure she has a good turntable.

Yet again, kakeladi hit the nail on the head - # 1, a good turntable for frosting   # 2, Nicholas Lodge or Alan Dunn tutorial books for making gum paste flowers  # 3, a beautiful cake stand - she probably has several, but a cake decorator can never have too many cake stands  # 4, if she doesn't already have one, a bench scraper is a real plus for frosting cakes.
