I made the mistake of painting with luster dust on white fondant. The tutorial I watched had used white so that's what I did. I'm making a gold crown and now it's very light gold and streaky. I let it dry and tried to airbrush it with the Wilton luster spray but didn't help. How can I fix this??? I should have used yellow fondant, but at this point I can't start again. Any tricks???

You probably used a too thin mixture of paint.  Did you mix your dust  w/vodlk or similar?  If so just thicken up that mixture by adding more dust and repaint.

@cakesbycourtney ‍, I agree with Kakeladi that your mixture may have been too thin.  It is also a possibility that the gold dust you have doesn't work very well.  When I first started, I was using Wilton and Duff Goldman gold dusts and they just didn't work.  When I tried to mix them with alcohol, they just formed a sandy, gross mess.  If you do have good color, you probably just need to add another cost or two.  I usually do at least two coats.

I agree wth Kakeladi and SandraSmiley.

Also, have you tried just dry-dusting the fondant over the painted layer while it's still a bit damp? It's not exactly cost-effective but it will definitely make the color pop more.
