Hi all,

If I am planning on adding gold sequins what should I put on my fondant first so they stick? Also if I already have the gold sequins how will I make it so the cake is gold first. In a tutorial the woman put the multi colored sequins on, then she painted it gold but in this case seeing my sequins are already gold should I do the same ? Thank you in advance !

You can brush on a little piping gel to the fondant and then stick them on. If your sequins are already gold, I don't see a need to spray them again once they're on the cake. I usually leave the base of my cake white, and if there are areas where it didn't get covered with the sequins, I just stick one on to cover it up.

You can make the overall icing a goldish yellow before putting the gold sequins on.  Try getting it close to the same tone as the sequins.  Another option instead of piping gel you can just lightly wet the fondant to get them to stick.  Nothing wrong w/using piping gel, just another option.
