What Is Done Here?I saw this cake online and would like to use the ribbon effect on a cake I'm doing. I see that the dark blue border and thin, lighter blue ribbons are real ribbon, but what is used for the two-toned 'ribbon'?  It doesn't look like real ribbon, but rather something else. Any ideas what is done here?

Actually to me it does look like real ribbon:)   The one w/the darker edges looks like ribbon w/piped edges.  Anyway - that's me guess.

That 2 tone ribbon looks like a narrow sheer ribbon with borders. I have a spool of the same but in green that I've used for Girl Scouts. Go to the ribbon isle at Michaels or JoAnns and you should be able to find it. I believe it is sheer because of where there is a cross-over you can see thru to the under wrap. I don't think the edges are piped. The other looks like a narrow satin ribbon of a complimentary color, because to the right area of the photo you can see shine.
