I've got a Matkins extruder (metal)
I am having soooo much trouble getting the inner piece (rod) to come out!!! I don't know if the rubber gasket is too tight, but whenever I need to refill I have to get my husband to take it apart because it is THAT tight!!! Even he has trouble. Is this normal! It takes me forever to get work done because of this problem
When I first got my extruder, I was having a horrible time with mine. I found if I coated the tube with a tiny bit of shortening on each pinky finger, it was so much easier to get the plunger to slide out. I also panicked when I couldnt get the end, with the disk in it, to screw off when I wanted to change the disk! Little did I know the plunger had to be backed off a little. HTH
