Cat

Hi everyone! So, one cake this week but it was for one of my best friends so it was a special one. Her birthday was yesterday, the party today, and she just loved it! This was an important one since she is moving to Scotland in a few weeks for 2 years so we won't get to celebrate again for awhile. She is a fabric artist and always wears bright, girly dresses with pop up details so that's what I did for her in cake. Anyways, it's a lemon cake with fresh blackberry filling!

Love the cake @catlharper it just pops out with colors and sounds yummy!
we are having a ladies tea at church tomorrow so I baked sugar cookies and am actually please with them. I will post pictures later. I just finished and it is after 2am.
Can't wait to see what is creating this week.
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there.

Nice cakes! not technically Friday night, but started on friday night :)

I made a simple moana cake with buttercream flowers. The figures are toys.

Love your monsters! Thanks for sharing the video!

Both of your cakes are beautiful me_me1. I especially love the painted buttercream with gold leaf and Hummingbird has to be one of the best cake flavors ever invented!

Your Moana cake is lovely and your colors are spot on!

Your dragon is adorable and the rose cake is beautiful, Shanelly! I would love to have seen your mom's face when she saw her cake! I know she loved it.

Thank you!

I'm a little late but Happy Mother's Day to all the moms on here :-)
@catlharper your cake is so pretty and it sounds really yummy!
@Mralexmunday it doesn't have to be Friday to participate on this thread. There have been weeks where it goes all week long with new additions. Love your cake by the way, great work!
@me_me1 that first cake of yours is stunning! My absolute favorite this week!
@FlRugbyChick your cake is very pretty :-)
@Shanelly great job on the dragon and your rose is very pretty.
I had cupcake orders for Mother's day and made extra to have for supper tonight. I made vanilla bean, cocoa banana cake and one order of gingerbread ones. I hosted Mother's day supper so spent the day cooking and baking. In addition to the cupcakes I tried a new cheesecake recipe (caramel apple blondie cheesecake). The picture isn't overly flattering but everyone loved it! Hope all the moms enjoyed their day!

@Mralexmunday great video and it makes it look so easy.
@me_me1 love the cakes.
@FlRugbyChick what a sweet cake.
@Shanelly the dragon is amazing.
@kstevens love the cupcakes but that cheesecake sounds delicious.
Here are the cookies I made for the tea.

Wow!! Some really fantastic cakes this week!!! Here's mine!! A make up cake for a 7 year old, she wanted grown up but not too grown up!!

@shellbell181 perfect. A great job on the makeup and brushes. I bet she was happy.

@kstevens your cupcakes are so cute and sound delicious, but (oh my) the cheese cake looks and sounds to die for!
@Marian64 your cookies are so pretty! I am afraid of cookies!
@shellbell181 perfect makeup cake! You did such a good job on all components and I know she loved it!

That's a shame, Shanelly. Sometimes mom's really know how to take the wind out of your sail.

For anyone who is interested, here is the link for the cheesecake recipe:

Another time I think I would add a little less sugar to the cheesecake bit & double up on the apples for the topping. I found it quite sweet but I also don't eat all that much sugar these days.
@Marian64 your cookies are so pretty!
@shellbell181 love that makeup cake! Your brushes look so real!

@SandraSmiley thanks. I usually stay away from them with royal icing . At Christmas I usually use buttercream and have my nieces have fun eating and decorating.
