Hey everyone,

I have been using the same vanilla cupcake recipe for a while and really love it. Then all of a sudden my cupcakes stopped rising. I tried everything and still they are not baking the same as before...

i also noticed as they are baking in the oven they have a little hole/dip in the middle... whats causing this.

i decided to try a completely new recipe...guess what same thing.. please help

Have you checked your oven's temp?   Maybe it not working right........if electric an element could be out.   Also if your recipe is 'from scratch' maybe you need a new container of baking powder.  Just a coupleof thought off the top of my head :)

Hi,

Thanks for responding,

I use an oven thermometer, so i know the temps correct..this doesn't mean the oven is distributing th heat correctly however. i use all room temp ingredients , do not over mix... I've even changed the baking powder like you said..i'm at a witts end !!

sorry I can't think of anything else either :(   Hopefully someone with more baking science knowledge will see this and help you out.
