Ok Ladies And Gents Time To Get To Work! Icing Smiles Cake Sketch To Look At ;)
Decorating By ElizabethsCakeCreations Updated 30 Apr 2017 , 8:07pm by ElizabethsCakeCreations

I'm making this cake through Icing Smiles Canada for a 10 year old who is battling leukemia. It's a make a wish announcement cake. My cake is how she is being told she is going to Hawaii! (pressure much?)
Flavours
I'm making 3 cakes 6" marble with alternating chocolate and vanilla buttercream for those traditionalists ;) , 8" pineapple cake with coconut buttercream I wanted tropical flavours, and of course a 10" red velvet with cream cheese flavoured icing for my wish girl! It will be flavoured with Cream Cheese Bakery Emulsion - 4 oz by Lorann Oils I don't feel comfortable using real cream cheese (no recipes needed I'm confident with what I've chosen)
On to the design!
I wanted it to be Cadence and her family in Hawaii! I'm going to do edible images for signs and the surfboard, flipflops, beach blanket ect. The tiki hut is going to be small maybe 3” tops out of rice krispy treats. The waterfall will be piping gel (man that stuff looks so good as water!)
I please need help with:
Deciding how to say you're going to Hawaii I want something fun and unique You’re going to Hawaii falls flat for me. Also how am I going to do it, I can draw it in the sand or do a message in the bottle (will the “paper even unroll) not to mention to keep it sort of an appropriate size it will be tiny to read so maybe not the best idea.
I also have one more option for cake layout (I will put picture in comments) Do I stack all 3 or do I do 2 and 1? Less work for them and the weight will be better distributed but what looks better?
Answers to icing smiles questions
1) Hawaiian (Cadence has wished to go to Hawaii)
2) She told us that her favourite colour is “dark purple”, but any colours that would tie into the Hawaiian theme would be wonderful!
3) Cadence’s mother has informed us that there will be approx. 30 – 35 people attending her Wish Reveal party
4) Her mom told us that her favourite flavor is red velvet, with cream cheese icing (not to say she wouldn’t enjoy other flavours!)
5) “You’re going to Hawaii!” / “Your Wish is Coming True!” (something along those lines, whatever works best for your design)
Man did I have fun making these sketches. Please keep in mind most things won't be wear they are in the sketch I'll put them where they look they're best! Feel free to offer suggestions or advice I need it! FYI this is a fun cake not a dream cake, but I just can’t help myself!

I think I know what you mean. Brain tired but sounds good

Oooh I like that!
Do you ladies think I should have all 3 stacked normally or 2 stacked with one in front?

imo, I think a litle girl would adore the idea of a "really big cake" as in all 3 stacked up high. To a child, that kind of cake is HUGE.
Fut if you want to do the water/pool/beach theme, then a 2-high + a 3rd on the bottom like the picture is a good theme, too.

why are you letting the cat out of the bag on the world wide web?

You can do a globe with Hawaii being highlighted(bigger size than it is seen actually in the globe) and an aeroplane flying pointing to Hawaii! Not too sure as to how this will work actually
One more is to write Aloha from Hawaii! You can add miniature candence with the Hawaii outfit

Have you thought about hiding it inside the cake?

I have but it's a reveal party so the cake will sit for a couple of hours until they cut it. By that point she would know , heck she'll probably figure it out by the party and the cake alone lol

So of course one week before the cake was due the theme changed to under the sea. Well that worked for me, look what I did! I'm a proud cake mama!

Oh this lovely girl was the 1,300th wish child. Thank goodness I did a good job!

thank you! The depressing part is how long it took 3 days. I'm never going to have my own store at the speed I go, I will lose so much money.
