Once done store it in grease proof paper (I double wrap it) and in a tupperware . It will lasts for months. So you can make it pretty far in advance :)

I layer mine between sheets of parchment and seal in a plastic storage box...lasts for months!

One last question. I use a crusting buttercream frosting. How do you get the sugarveil to stick to the side of the cake on this type of frosting?

I use a mixture of three parts corn syrup and one part water.  I moisten a folded paper towel with the mixture, then pat it on back side of the lace...it doesn't take a whole lot...just enough to make the lace a bit tacky.

Hi sweetmeat (and thanks Jeff and 508 for your replies, too) - A little moisture on a fingertip is enough to adhere SugarVeil to any surface, including a crusted buttercream. Here's more info: http://sugarveil.com/instructionlanding.
