Hi Every1,
I thought I'd give us all a start.....this will be for any1 who is struggling to lose weight and just wants some support. When I get I craving I have decided to just come post instead. I know once I am on cake central I will be here at least 30 minutes so that is plenty of time for the craving to pass!!
I have lost 17.5 pounds since August and still want to lose about 40 more
! If I said I workout a lot I'd be lying as a matter of fact if I said I workout a little I'd be lying.......I have 4 kids ages 11, 9, almost 7, and 4. I am excited about this thread!!!

This is a great idea. I have about 20 lbs to lose, maybe more, but I'm not setting myself up for unrealisitic goals right now. I'll come to this often too. I'm in and out of CC all day anyway. Should we be listing our weights and gains/losses each week?
BTW - Berta if you have 4 kids, you most certainly do get excercise! Just maybe not in the traditional sense.
Hi!!
I am so glad to see responses already!!! The kids do keep me busy but they also lead me to McDonald's, cookies and other not so great snacks....of course they eat 1 or 2 oreos and I was eating half a package dipped in milk. The WW points have been so helpful because I can still eat what I like as long as I count my points.
As for posting weights etc, that is up to each person. I am definitely gonna post my weekly gains and losses as well as how much more I need to lose....that keeps me accountable!
Berta
HI ...
Hope I can join the thread here!
My name is Jay, I am from massachusetts and have about 20+ pounds to lose. I am a single mother to a wonderful almost 7 year old (next month) and proud girlfriend of a member of the US Coast Guard.
Blittle-- I'm there with you -- I don't exercise, though i know that i should.
I do WW online and have been on and off WW for about 3 years .... I have succeeded at this before and i will again!!
A few websites that can be useful ...
www.dwlz.com
www.caloriesperhour.com
http://www.stormpc.com/ww/index.html
Jay
Hi Jay!!
Welcome to our thread!! Also thanks for the websites; I am going to visit them today. I think WW is ideal for me. It has been not to difficult to stick with so far.
We should all post tips and great foods to try....example....ruffles light and lays light are only 1 point for 15-20 chips...I just figured that out last week so now I can snack on those when I need a chip fix!
Ahhhh if only cake central surfing was considered exercise....I'd be slim and trim in no time!!
Berta
HI,
Im new to CC. Sounds like a great idea! I need to loose about 20lbs as well. Somehow, when u reach a certain age, its more difficult to loose the weight.

Hey all,
May I join too? I don't do WW I use Slim-Fast.com. I posted that in the other thread.
Anyway, started in February to lose weight for my oldest dd's wedding in April. Managed to lose about 25 pounds and then another five or so after the wedding. But have lost all my steam. I have gained a few back and lost a few since then. Keep doing that up and down thing right now. Would like to lose another 25 or so but right now my goal is to get to 165. I have not been able to get there. I am 5'11" so the 25 pounds made a big difference but not satisfied yet.
I rarely exercise either. I just bought a wagon for my 2 year old dd and am trying to do some walks with her. Still waiting for the heat to abate a bit.
Hi Cyndi,
I need to check out the slim-fast.com site. Right now I am paying for the WW online. It helps to log in my food and weight.
I bought a wagon for my youngest once so we could walk, but that didn't last long. I just can't stay motivated to exercise even though I know my weight would come of faster. We even have a good treadmill but I just can't seem to use it for longer than a few weeks at a time.
Berta
Berta, I hear ya. I have a Gazelle and used it quite a lot when I first got it. But I have to be careful with my little one around because if she goes behind me I could really hurt her. Or I have to fight her to use it because she loves the thing. I am not motivated enough to exercise to fight over it. lol
I have a treadmill in my garage but can't get to it. And other various equipment but just can't get that exercise bug. Wish I could become as addicted to exercise as I am to this site.
This sounds great for me!!! My problem is that I am not accountable for my weight and it just keeps going up! I would like to lose between 25-30 between now and Christmas. That is not all I need to lose, but I think that is reasonable for now! Thanks Berta for getting this started!!!
Before I got pregnant in 2003, I lost nearly 40 points on WW. It was a godsend for me! I agree with the previous post - www.dwlz.com is an excellent resource.
I've joined WW online but haven't been very good about it. My baby will be 2 in November, and between being a full time employee, wife, mom, cook, bottle washer, and chief financial officer for our home, and amateur cake decorator on the side, I just don't have anything left for meetings or exercise!
What worked for me in WW was the points, and the fact that it forced me to pay attention to what I was eating. It was all about being concious of food choices. It's amazing how many calories you can scarf, just because you're not paying attention. Add the effort that it takes to write down (or type in) what you're eating, and all of a sudden, it's easier to eat a handful of almonds than it is to down a snickers bar.
Good luck to you - we're all in this together, and I think it's great that you can reach out to the CC community and ask for support and help. Happy slimming!
Stephanie
Mom of Gabriela, 22 months
Thanks Berta.
You know, CC is so addictive, its the first site i get on every morning and every chance i get. I too wish that exercise could be so addictive!
Im trying working out to a Kathy Smith VCD, but its more for toning the body. I hope it works out. ![]()
Hi Every1,
I am so excited about this thread!! I think it will be of benefit to all of us. My weigh in day is Wednesday so I will begin posting my losses etc every Wednesday. Every1 else try to post on your official weigh day every week....if you don't have a way day or are just starting then why not start today or tomorrow morning??? I know for a long time I didn't weigh even though I knew I was gaining (denial I guess). That's why I say go weigh and get started no more denial!!
If any1 needs point values let me know and I will look em up 4 u!!!
Berta
Berta is right, go weigh. I put it off for so long that I was devastated when I actually got on the scale. This past week I was not doing so good on the diet. I was afraid to get on the scale. But I forced myself and guess what?! I actually lost a half pound. Granted its not much but it was better than gaining.
ok, this is so completely wonderful. I will weigh in every monday evening. The format I like to use is my start weight~current weight~goal weight. So when you see my signature at bottom with some numbers after it, that is what it is!
I will go weigh myself right now, but it will change this evening and be according to the WW scale I hop on tonight!
Yikes I really had to dig for that bathroom scale. It was soooo buried in the closet. ![]()
Pandora 166.2~166.2~145 (for now)
Good idea with the signature Pandora. If you don't mind me doing so, I'd like to use that format too... I only weigh myself 1st thing in the morning before I've eaten anything, right before I get in the shower. I don't have a scale so I haven't weighed myself in about a month or so. But last time I weighed myself, I was at 155. I'll start with that as a current weight this week and when I get a scale, I'll recheck and start from that weight if it has gone up. Definitely a great idea! One question though, are we all going to have the same 'weigh in' day? If so, I'm flexible about which day.
rvallee 155~155~130
I love the signature idea also!! I think everyone should do their weigh in day whenever it is convinient...then stick to that day. I have been doing weight watchers so my weigh in day is Wednesday so that's what I'll stick to. I also weigh first thing in the morning.
Again I encourage every1 to get your scales out and weigh....If I had done that when I first felt my weight getting out of control I would have stopped this sooner....now I am heavier than ever and losing it is even harder!!! We are not here to judge only to help and support!!!!!!
Berta
I'll take my figures from my current WW profile and list them here as my signature ...
Jay .... 167/164/140
I am a lifetime member of weight watchers. I got to goal in December 2002. I was overweight for most of my 40 years so it was a big achievement for me. I have been under goal since then. Although still under goal, I have put on a few pounds(darn cake LOL). I stopped exercising last year around this time. I am back to my 20 points a day to lose about 15 or so pounds. I still am fighting the exercise but will attempt to do at least 3 days a week. We are trying to declutter our house(dh is the BIGGEST pack rat ever and cannot resist computers or bikes) and I am setting up the family room as an exercise room.
Does anyone do the walk away the pounds videos?
I like them more than any other I have tried.
Sandra
ps we have thanksgiving here in Canada this weekend and it's my birthday. I Will be eating cake this year(two layer chocolate cake filled with cookies and cream from WBH and covered with caramel ganache from Hermes Chocolate Desserts
Hi all,
I'd like to join as well. I lost about 50 lbs with WW about 3 years ago. I gained about 12 lbs and would love to lose 15 lbs before our vacation to the caribbean in December.
My plans were to start WW today that is until we had free food at work. I just ate all my points. Oh well, I will start now. I am committing to weigh in Tuesday mornings and post my weigh. I will use Pandora's formula of starting weight, current weight and goal weight. I am also commiting to do 10 1/2 weeks just in time for the holidays.
I attached my daily journal for your use. You'll find the second sheet especially helpful since it contains points information. I think I got this from some other forum. I changed it a little bit to fit my needs. You can use it, just change the date and your point range.
Blittle, thanks a lot for starting this. This is the support and inspiration I needed.
Hi,
Thank you so much for that awesome journal!!! I think that anyone who is not yet keeping track of their points or food they eat...they should start!! I know I would say...well, I don't eat much....til I started writing it down!! I would be happy to also look up what ppl's point totals would be for their weight and height.
BTW...guess what me and my 4 year old daughter just did....we walked to my mom's house and back!! 2 miles and we only stopped for a few minutes to visit!! It took me a total of 40 minutes but earned me 2.5 activity points for the day! I can't guarantee I will do it everyday, but at least I did it today! How about a quick walk "just cuz" for whoever has the time today....go outside or turn on some great music and walk around the house for 20 minutes or so.....the kids will have a blast if you dance with them....we won't peek we promise!!!
Berta
OKay, I would love to join this post. The only thing is that I don't do WW. My most success I had was when I followed a low-carb, high protein diet. I really hope that doesn't matter
PURTY PLEASE LET ME BE PART OF YOUR GROUP!!!!! I have struggled with my weight all my life, and when I was actually following the diet, I lost 50 lbs and was within 50 of my all-time goal. Now, that goal is so far since I fell off. I know that I can do it again, with the moral support of all the cake people in my life.
Thanks
Gina ~334/334/299 (Short term goal)/175 (all time goal)
Hi everyone, I think this thread sounds like a great idea. I recently lost 40 lbs so I know how hard it can be. Unfortunately I didn't have this site to help me!!
I had to rely on pure willpower to avoid going into the fridge. I've kept the weight off for about a year now.
Just remember that it gets easier as time passes!!! Thanks for reading my 2 cents.
Wow - so many ppl on WW and Slim-Fast. This is great! I'm a Life Time member of WW and I still fight with my weight. I'm 45 yrs old and weigh 160 lbs - I'd like to be 140. I had my daughter at 39 and still fight the baby-fat. True - the older you get the harder it is to get the weight off. Like others - full time job (desk job sitting on my butt 9 hrs
oh, that helps alot), family, home maintenance - no time for exercise other than daily chores and running around. My fingers are skinny though from typing all day. Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Thanks for the "Thread" As WW says - We're all losers - ( I don't know if I like that saying) ![]()
of course you can join us Gina!
Way to go Berta on the walk!!!
I broke down and bought that Core ball from TV!!! My hubby said I better get off my butt and use it! He says I'm a money disposal. HEHE.
oh, and something to consider... weight loss programs can get a bit pricey. My stepmother has been overweight the majority of her life. She was say maybe a size 26 pants. Well instead of a trendy program, her doctor sent her to a nutritionist. It was covered in her medical insurance!!! The program from the nutritionist was very practical and would you believe a year later she is a size 16-18!!! Now that is results, and it only cost her a small co-pay!
Well, I just had a lean frozen meal for lunch, and it is going to be applesauce pork chops for dinner with brown rice and a salad.
Try mentally dividing your plate into 4 sections. 2 parts should be veggies, 1 part meat, 1 part starch.
Good Luck!!!!!!!!!
