I just heard from some friends in my local catering equipment shop here in Perth, Australia that there is someone (they wouldn't tell me who) in this city teaching cake decorating classes and telling the students that it's fine to use normal glue to stick things onto the cake because people just peel that part off....

How interesting that some people will come up with such stupid opinions!
I had a brief talk w/a local shop owner who seems to really get angry when I ?ed selling disco dust (which is just finely ground plastic glitter and illegal to use on food in the US). To him it was 'inert' - passed thru the body without problems.
How can they be allowed to sell plastic for people to eat?? Also putting glue on cakes that people eat??? What is wrong with this picture??? These people need to be put out of business for sure putting people's health at stake doing this!!!
