Two questions. 1. Can I use 1/2" foam core as a cake drum if I glue a smaller size Masonite board under the foam core?  My tiers will be 12, 9 & 6   that will be 4" high with cascading gum paste roses and  am wondering if I can use a 16" foam core (fondant covered with ribbon) with 14" covered Masonite board glued under to use as the drum or should I use something else?  2. Also, what do I need to use to attach the gum paste roses to the cake?  I always use melted white chocolate but since there will be so many roses I am not sure.  Thanks

Sure you can use foam core that way.   The melted choco is a good choice.  I also have used b'cream; others have used royal icing....it's up to you really.
