So I'm making cupcakes for my sister in law's baby shower and bought these adorable baking cups. They're more like cardboard than paper and you're supposed to bake right in them. But it dawned on me, how the heck do you get the cupcakes out of them? I thought about baking in separate liners and dropping the cupcakes into these, but they have very straight sides and my pans do not so I highly doubt they'll fit. Has anybody used these?[postimage id="5545" thumb="900"]
If you can bake in them, I say go for it. No experience with them, sorry. I would assume the same as you...already baked cuppies wouldn't fit, unless you under-fill them. But if you can bake in the cup, just serve with a fork. Less mess than peeling a cupcake wrapper off.
Why not put the paper liners inside the cardboard cups, fill with batter, and bake? The paper liners should mold to the shape of the cup. Or... is the inside of the cardboard cups already lined... maybe with silicone or something else to make them non-stick? The cupcakes might just slide right out. Perhaps bake a couple cupcakes first - try both ways.
Hi! They're meant to be baked in directly without a liner and served with a fork. That's why they're decorative. Better for adults and at home parties than for kids or picnics.
