I've been asked to do a cake similar to this. What are the separators between the tiers? Are these foam or plastic, or is this some sort of pre-fab display?

Most likely they are styro covered w/fondant.
Thanks! The bride has since decided to forego the separators in lieu of stacking the tiers. I appreciate the response though.
