Hello!

Aside from having trouble finding a good vanilla cake recipe, I also haven't found a good funfetti recipe. I am going to try another recipe today, because I am making my brother's wedding cake in May and his fiance would like funfetti. So my question is...can I just can sprinkles to any cake recipe to make it "funfetti"?

When I tried that they melted and the batter turned brown.

I mix use sprinkles very similar to these : http://www.amazon.com/Edible-Confetti-Sprinkles-Cookie-Cupcake/dp/B008Y2TST0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1458426701&sr=8-1&keywords=confetti+cake+sprinkles

And my funfetti turns out fine. I haven't had any problems with the batter turning weird colors.

Ok, thank you. I have cake in the oven now with plain "jimmies" as some call them, it's what I had on hand. We'll see how it turns out and I'll keep those other sprinkles in mind for next time. The confetti ones.
