Hi there! So I had a question about coloring and flavoring cake batter.  Can I puree berries (such as blueberries, cherries, and raspberries) and add them into a batch of cake batter to color it and flavor it?  Or will that mess with the texture and ruin the cake?  Thanks!

Yes you can do that but not to any batter. Easiest is to search for recipes which have fresh fruits or the like added already. I have a recipe I successfully altered but it needs normally some adjustment.

You would need to adjust the amount of liquid in the batter. Also, not all purees give the desired color to the baked cake. Strawberry turns greyish. Blueberry turns greenish, etc.
