Hi all,

this maybe a stupid question, but since I am new to this whole baking thing, I want to be sure I'm doing this right. can anyone tell me how much batter I should use for a round 6 inch, and 10 inch round pans that are 3 inches deep?  Since this is a last minute thing I'm using cake box from better Crocker and Duncan Hines. I saw a chart at the Wilton website,  but I don't know if that's for two pans or just one pan.   Any advice would be appreciated.

TIA

For a 6x3 I usually use 3 cups of batter. For the 10x3 I use 8 cups :)

The Wilton chart is per pan. I wasn't sure either, until realized that a "1 layer, 2" high cake" was essentially one pan. I measured my pan with water first to make sure, ha ha!
