I attempted to make this cake but the ice cream cones kept falling apart when I tried to cut the sides of it and attach it to the cake. I even tried to put them on the side of the cake without cutting them but gravity kept making them fall off. Please tell me the proper way to put the cones on the cake without them falling off or crumbling.

I haven't made this cake before. I have cut cones vertically in half though. These look like sugar cones? They are a bit harder to work with than regular cones but you could use regular ones too. First of all you need a knife with a serrated blade. Since the cones are falling apart so easily, try filling them with bread or marshmallows before cutting them in half. Use a back and forth gentle sawing motion.
