I just got a canon i6000d from ebay. I was going to get this one or the 3000. It was for what ever was cheapiest and fastest ending. I guess it depends on how much you use it. I was just reading that when not using put the cleaning cartridges in the printer. This way it wont clog. I am waiting for mine to come in the mail.

They say when you are not using a printer ti take out the edible ink and put the cleaner cartridges in it. This way your printer wonet get clogged.

I suspect this may be a "your mileage may vary" thing. I LOVE my Canon. No problems at all (until I refilled the cartridges this week - bummer - but that situation is improving). I have had several Epsons before (and still have one today) and have often had clogging issues with them. Haven't used an Epson with edible images, though. I didn't want the almost-invisible perforations Epson's paper-feed mechanism puts on the printed surface on my edible images.

I'm kind of a printer freak. I don't know how many printers I've had over the years. Many. Right now, I have three printers hooked to this computer...and a fourth one on the desk next to me...and a backup for my edible printer in the closet. All but one are Canons. I love 'em, and they're my first choice for edible images for many reasons, the most important being:

(a) The Canon printhead is simply removed for thorough cleaning when the worst happens and you get a stubborn clog. and

(b) You have to have a chip resetter for the Epson ink cartridges, should you refill them. A minor inconvenience, really - and maybe a non-issue for you

Many love and swear by their Epsons. In the end, you've gotta go with what fits your pocketbook and what you are comfortable with.
