Burnt Marshmellow For Fondant

help I tried to melt marshmellows in microwave, 30sec at a time, but they burnt in the middle. I tried again with a new batch and added them to the icing just before they are runny now the fondant has little hard bits in it
what did I do wrong
can i re microwave to get rid of the hard lumps

I've burnt the marshmallows before too. Now, I put them in the microwave for 15 seconds at a time. And stir between each 15 seconds.From my experience working with burnt marshmallos, you're best bet is to scrap what you've got and start all over. (Sorry, I know that's not what you wanted to hear.)

Like Misdawn said... throw it away & start over! Your MMF will taste burnt & will also have a yellow/brown tint to it if you use it. Don't worry you'll figure out the right time to melt the MM's in! I got my 1st & 2nd batch perfect. Then a few weeks later when I had to make some more I got 2 batches perfect & burned 1~ Microwaves are moody! Good luck on your next batch~

tried again- this time with white mellows- perfect
first time was with coloured - yellow - burnt
second time green-lumpy
white ones melt a lot better
