Hi guys

I want to make a visual illusion noodle cake with a bowl of noodles and some chopsticks sitting up in the air.

Any tips or recommendations on how to get the chopsticks sitting up so it looks like they're airborne?

Thanks.

it has to be attached with something like a wire at least -- add cornstarch to fondant and have the wire well imbedded -- i'd spiral it -- and fashion the chopsticks -- let them dry -- when you go to afix the wire you'll want to have it set into something dense like a piece of foam or rice krispie treat so it holds well --

if you just want them sticking up out of the noodles then just make them a little longer and let them dry well

Thanks K8memphis.

I was going to use real chopsticks. I was actually thinking to drill them into a dowel but not sure how that would look.

This tutorial might help you with the construction. http://www.cakecentral.com/b/tutorial/gravity-defying-chocolate-cake

It sounds like you want noodles hanging from the floating chopsticks, right? like this cake: http://www.cakecentral.com/g/i/2983311/all-is-edible-except-chopsticks/

The noodles will hide the support.

AThanks Leanne. The tutorial is perfect. Exactly what I'm after. The link of the noodle bowl is exactly what I have in mind.
