Im looking to get a similar effect to this on a pastillage  piece im working on at the minute. Could any one help?

specifically the aged look in similar colours

im looking at what technique to use/ what colours to use?

i would brush on a mixture of two different cocoas -- brown cocoa with a touch of black cocoa -- you have to have the texture worked in there on the surface to get it to hold like that -- that's a beautiful piece --

 

black and brown powdered colors would work too

Possibly some rainbow dust metallic food paint for the top metallic looking layer

You can also find some Gold dust or Silver dust and mix them with a little black to get the tarnished look. It's a beautiful mask!
