Hi there,

Just wondering those of you who have made a few of these, if you were to make a car like the attached, would you keep the proportions pretty exact? I would like to as I think it keeps it more authentic, but you end up with a ridiculously long skinny cake and have to make it quite big to have a good amount of cake. The last one I did I stretched the shape vertically but then I think it took away the look of the car, or am I  just being too fussy!

I think it depends on how realistic you want the cake to look. Skewing the proportions ever so slightly can make things easier, but there's that line you cross when the cake looks more like a cartoon version of the car instead of the car itself. I like to keep it pretty close on the dimensions.

But that's just me :)

I think if you change the proportion then you will change the line of the car and it will not look realistic.

Thanks yes I will keep to the actual proportions of the next car, I won't be happy with the outcome if it doesn't look right :)
