Ok, total rookie question.....I have decorated several 3-D cakes and have had problems around the bottom of my cakes. My problem is this - how do I get the icing from the icing bag to the cake if the angle of the cake board prevents me from making the little tiny stars?

I'm wanting to do the 3-D jack-o-lantern again, but last time, I had such a horrible time with the lowest inch or so that I'm rethinking it.

Is there some sort of coupler or joint to "bend" the icing bag to fit into nooks and crannies like that?

tcturtleshell had one of these and I have been looking all over for one. She thought she'd gotten it in a kit for a class she'd taken. I would love to find one myself, so if anyone knows where to get one, please let us both know! lol

I thought I'd seen them on Sugarcraft so went to see, they have a note that the bent coupler has been discontinued by Wilton, so probably the only way to get one now would be to find a leftover in a store someplace. Janice

icon_eek.gif Hello again........
I found the book I was looking for, now Idon't know if They still carry this item..but here is the info.........
It's in book: The Wilton School Decorating Cakes, it says, A Reference & Idea Book, the item is on page106, it's called a Angled Coupler, item # 411-7365
There is a phone number to call Wilton on products (don't know if they can help) 1-800-794-5866
I'm looking at the year of this book and I think it says 2003.

Let us know if you do find a angled coupler........

Bye bye

Midwest Craft and Cake Supply Inc.

This company mentions "angles couplers" for .79 cents.

They have an email address to contact them with questions.
Maybe you could email and ask what that is. (and then let us know thumbs_up.gif )

I've checked about a dozen supply sites, and Claytons (from Kos' post above) appears to be the only ones who have the angled coupler, if they actually have them on hand. (their number matches the one in the older Wilton catalogs). Janice

Find out if the shipping cost for 1-2 of the couplers would still be as expensive!!

Well, seems like someone has an opportunity to make some money here. Can't be that difficult to design, right??

I have several of them and love them to death.

Check on e-bay, sometimes they have one in with the tips they are selling.
