After months of trying I have finally managed to get a smooth cake thanks to all those that helped advise me on my last post!
Ok yes its not perfect but I am happy with that as its a big improvement on other attempts.
My aim by June is to able to make a plain cake with no fancy toppings smooth enough to look like a wedding cake ekkkkk
My dream is to make my own wedding cake...but that's another day lol
ACongratulations. I remember my first gumpaste cake that I was happy with. The feeling of achievement goes a long way to increasing confidence

You covered your cake in gumpaste??
AOpps! Of course not UK mix up, we have different names for some stuff and unless I stop to think about it I mix them up. I meant to say covering paste.
AYessssss! That is the kind of thing I get excited about, not decorations, but how porcelain smooth and flaw free you can get your finish, and not have to hide anything. That's the mark of a talented decorator as far as I'm concerned. ;-) Keep practicing, you'll get there!
Great job, practice does make perfect and you will achieve your goal. I know you can make a wedding cake!
Yes, the stuffed bear with his own stuffed animal is a nice piece. Congratulations on your progress!
Cheers,
