Thank you all for your generous comments. It was a lot of work, but seeing the end product is worth it. Laurelj, I just used fondant with the pine cone form from Sugardelites. You have to do a row or two at a time "gluing" them on with melted chocolate. I then brushed silver powder(Wilton) on the tips. It is time consuming, but I enjoy a challenge.

I think that mold would be so nice to have for some of the woodsy decorated cakes I make. I'm going shopping !!
