I made my friend a cake for her son's first birthday party with cupcakes as well.  It was for about 75 people.  Since she is my dear friend I didn't charge her what I would normally charge someone, but it was still as decent amount of money. 

When she went to pay me she asked me if I wanted more money for time I had spent.  (I said no.)  I was touched because there are many complaints on this site about friends who take advantage of bakers and it makes me happy to know that this is not always the case.  It's a good feeling to have.  

So choose friends well and work will always be appreciated.

Just wanted to share that.  There are still many people out there who recognize the value of a cake and a friendship.
