Has anyone ever been to this show? I am only about two hours from Westminster and really want to go- is it worth the trip? I would appreciate any feedback! TIA

I'm going to be there....just coming up with some ideas for the wedding cake competition.....I think the theme is something borrowed, something blue....

look for me!

I went for the first time last year (in the rain) and had so much fun and learned so much. I will be back this year with 2 entries. It is definitely worth the trip for the demonstrations alone.

I would love to attend but I'm going to NYC on that Saturday, and have church on Sunday. I'm praying that we have a 2nd service and I'll just attend church in the afternoon.

I think I've pretty much decided I'm going- I will be finishing up the Wilton fondant course the weekend before and I think I will treat myself to the show as a reward icon_biggrin.gif

to top is off, I just got a cake order for that weekend.. Now what am I going to do? I have to decide what's more important, I guess.

it isn't too advanced for anyone. there are many many categories, from beginner to professional. meaning your cake is judged against the others in your category, not against all of the cakes. I'm looking forward to seein the st patrick's day entries.

Hi mscarriecake! I in Ft. Washington (PG Co.) what part of DC are you in. I just moved from DC last month. I am planning to make the show, too. It would be great to network with local cc members!

Are we going to have to start calling you sneakydog? I really want to go.....I loved the adrenaline rush during the judging. Fondant cakes keep well for 2 days......I'll delivery it Friday, on my way down to MD.....

We should definately set up a CC meeting place and time! How cool would that be?

(I keep editing to fix that darn quote thingy!)

mscarriecake & sweetsbycheryl - Yaayy, more local decorators!! I'm in Fredericksburg, VA so if we all go we'll have to be sure to meet up and introduce ourselves. Do you guys belong to any cake clubs? I'm going to my 1st meeting tonight.

Hi Zoraya!!
I am about an hour and a half from Frdericksburg- we definitely need to meet if we both decide to go!! No cake clubs up here- very rural- we just got Michael's and the Wilton cake classes a year or so ago
