AI just made Macsmom's Orange Dreamsickle cake and, well let me just say, it was something out of a cartoon!! 325 for 45 mins in, I decided to check doneness....opened the door and as soon as I did, FLOP!! WITH SOUND EFFECTS!! WTHeck!! Exactly the same EVERYTHING. Has this happened to anyone else and how did you solve it? :-(

I have 2 10" of that recipe in the oven right now.  It is my most requested cake. I have not ever had that problem. I do find it turns out better if you let your orange soda go flat

I'm so sorry this happened and I wish I had an answer,  but do I ever understand.  Earlier this week I was making a coconut cake 325 for 45 min, toothpick comes out clean.  carefully put them on cooling racks and 5 minutes later I check and both cakes collapsed in the middle - completely.  They were big coconut donuts - LOL   Back to the drawing board :(

AThat happened to me too! I think I over filled the pans. I tried the same recipe with cupcakes and they were awesome.
