it is a wedding or a birthday?. if it is a birthday a 13 inch pan would be ok if it is for wedding a 12 inch pan. Because the size of the portion is different.
If your recipe has 4 cups of flour it makes one pound cake iqual pan 11 " high.
if has 2 cups is for a 9" pan.
