Does anyone know how Leslea Matsis achieves her Teddy Bear fur with fondant....It's so incredible. I can't seem to find out how she does it...or is it a well kept secret!!!???
She made the cake topper for a boy's birthday cake. Perhaps you could contact her through Facebook

and ask.
On one of her Flickr photos she says it's fondant cut with scissors...

or did you mean an actual tutorial?
that bear is so cool! It looks like she might take a strip of fondant and then make cuts along the length of it and then apply a small strip at a time? Just a guess.
Birdyy that is what I'm thinking...do you guys think that she glues it on a fondant covered form? I'm thinking I can "glue" fondant strips with melted chocolate....Or maybe I'll just chicken out and use buttercream piping...
If you read the comments at this link she mentions it's gum paste, cut with scissors, and that she covered a polystyrene ball.

I can't imagine making all those cuts, but it's an incredible result!
