Hey guys.. my father's 50th birthday is coming up soon and I want to make him an amazing out of this world cake. He's a firefighter (Asst. Chief), likes classic cars, and things like that. I want to make a unique cake and not the typical "Over the Hill" cake. Thanks!

There are some really neat firetruck cakes in the galleries. Do a search using Google and typing "fire truck at cakecentral" in the search line. I have a couple in my gallery.

AHere's One I did for my dad's 70th birthday. Be glad to help too
AI did a fireman's hat for my sons third birthday. I baked it in the pampered chef mixing bowl and added another layer underneath. It turned out kind of tall. Prob didn't need the extra layer for height, but we needed it serving-wise. I also did a mini ball cake for the top since the bottom of the mixing bowl is flat. I think there's a tutorial on here for doing the fondant strips underneath. The front emblem is a fondant plaque.
When he gets to 51, do something themed to the classic "Emergency!" TV show. (I'll be sure and post pix of my own 51st birthday "Emergency" cake, and I'm not even a firefighter.)
