I got a surprise day off, so I popped into Home Goods to see what was new. Holy Cow! There was a KA 5qt Artisan Mixer on Clearance for ...............$175!!

The box was damaged, so I had the cashier open it and sure enough, there is a ding out of the top casing, where something must have been dropped on it, but I don't think it will effect the performance of the machine, and I can fill it with some porcelain repair from Home Depot. I don't care how it looks, really, and to have a second mixer will more than overcome the cosmetics!

I haven't tried it out yet. Fingers crossed that it works!!

Only question I would have asked is, will they honour the warranty?

Because cosmetic dings are not a problem...but internal damage would be.
