I was asked to do a cake like the one below. This is my first 3D cake. I'm asking for any tips to help me. I guess the body and head will be made from cake. What size cakes? What else do I need to know before getting started? Thank you!!!

cute cake. i would use the sports ball cake pans for the body and head, trimmed cupcakes for the nose/mouth, and rice krispies for the paws. as far as sizes go, depends on how many servings you need. that pic just looks like the body is only 8" ball pan. if you dont have ball pans, a triple layer 8" and triple layer 6" would be a gret start for the main 2 parts. hope this helps get the ideas flowing. good luck.

AIt depends on how many people you need to serve. You can always make it smaller and have cupcakes(or sheet cakes but I think cuppies would be cute sitting around Clifford) to fill in any extra servings needed.

That is a super cute cake btw! Good luck!
