I am looking for FREE costing software that has the ability to transfer the data into nutritional labeling.  I am starting my own bread, cookie, pastry shop and want to make sure that i am pricing accurately as well as applying the correct nutritional values to the products.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

I am also not completely adverse to paying for the "right" software but, i would need it to tie into Quickbooks and of course be user friendly.

i had software for the bookstore that 'tied' into qb and it was not only not free it was sh*t

~to me after having gone through that--i would use qb to it's best

and my other software to it's best

you be your own tie in between the softwares-- a bit of double work maybe but better than incurable cluster ____ headache

i doubt there's anything free that would do that except excel

but check with the retail baker's association rba that's a good place to start

maybe some restaurant software?

but it's prolly gonna cost you though

what i would do is ram everything i could through qb --they do have inventory capability and i don't know how far in depth it goes--but wind qb out as far as it will go--then whatever was leftover i'd use the other software for and not the other way around

that was a nightmarish lesson learned for me <shudder>

Thanks so much for the honest feedback. Sounds like I have some homework to do.

i'm not a happy number cruncher on my best day icon_biggrin.gif

but i really really like qb

and i can recommend cake boss too for everything but the nutritional side of it

ask the cb folks about that though --it's a fabulous tool

best of the best to you!!
