Hello!  I would love to hear from people who purchased a slab/clay roller to use for their fondant cakes.  My hubbs is buying me a slab roller for Christmas and I just wanted some opinions from you guys. I hope it will do what I need.  The price is a lot more reasonable.  Thank for your input.

AHi. I know this post is over 2 years old but would like to know if you received the slab roller and if so, your opinion. Ease of use, quality of finished product, cut down on time, etc.?

I have a slab roller for clay. I am thinking of using it for fondant, but I would have to buy new canvases. Plus, the canvases leave an imprint on the clay/fondant of teeny tiny little lines, cause it's canvas.

If I start a cake business and it gets big, I would probably use it. It goes down to 1/4 inch, I think, not lower, so it may not actually work. It is a North Star, cost about $550.
