I was wondering if anyone here on CC lives in Germany?? I just moved here about 6 months ago and i'm trying to find a local cake shop that sells things like boards, tools and supplies. Any help would be great!
TIA!
Most people order online in Germany not too many cake shops around, where you can go and have a look. Whereabouts do you live?

Hi! thank you for your reply! I live in Herschberg close to Pirmasens. I have been ordering online but was just curious if there was anywhere in this country to go and just buy stuff if I get in a jam :)
Mannheim or near it

We have a Germanspeaking forum www.torten-talk.de, a few of us also speak and understand English. Joining doesn't cost anything. Diane who founded the forum is English and I am an administrator over there
There will be a new cake competition in Cologne next year in April, check it out. If you need help with the language, let me know and I'll translate the most important bits and pieces for you. The competition is held near the Tolle Torten shop, so it would be a two for one trip. I'll fly over for that as well

Another shop I forgot to mention is www.torten-kram.de
Oh my gosh, thank you so so so so much! I will most definitely check this place out :) I am always in manheim at the IKEA there :)
There's also www.tortissimo.de that also has shops in Allendorf, Leipzig, and Dresden.

I was in Hamburg recently and while they had a few cake shops stocking everything under the sun, my goodness was the fondant expensive!!! 1kg of Wilton white fondant cost 14.99 Euros!! Don't know if that was unusual but seeing as it has such a long shelf life, for that price, i'd be tempted to buy in bulk from overseas. Good luck with the move, I am very jealous :-)
