I'm looking for a light and fluffy icing for cupcakes. Preferably one that I can alter for flavors (chocolate, etc). The one I currently use is the same one that I use on my cakes and while it's very good, it crusts. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Have you tried making italian meringue buttercream or swiss meringue buttercream. Very delicious and all flavors.
