So I am going to attempt an animal cake and I have done a little research. To get the best look I may need to airbrush it...

There are a MILLION airbrushes... is it worth it to spend $200+ or will a $65 one suffice? Also, are there any local stores you can buy from?

Oh the research I tried to do on airbrushes! The one opinion that was consistent was NOT to get the cheap Duff airbrush. Apparently, it is a waste.

I ended up getting the Kopykake machine from Ultimate Baker. I like it. I chose it because I had used it at another bakery where I used to work. I have since heard of a few others, but no one seems to really know which is best.

I read on this site about a year ago (paraphrasing here):
It can be extremely frustrating learning to airbrush with an inferior tool, such that you may easily quit. Don't skimp out of the gate and you may end up actually learning to airbrush.

If there was a consensus about which unit to buy, I'm sure this site would already have singled it out. (Like the Agbay for leveling cakes.)

Another poster mentioned that the best airbrush is named "practice."
(Which I still need to do with my Aztek, btw...)
