Since you say you are a 'newbie' why not start out w/Wilton's gp flowers? To me starting there will help you deceied if you really like working w/gp before investing in the much more expensive books.
There are many wonderful, expensive books out there - authors like Nic Lodge and Sylvia Weinstock, oh so many I can't think of their names.
Have you tried watching the YouTube offerings? That are soooooo many you many not need books ![]()
Alison Proctor "Simplifying Sugar Flowers" which you should be able to buy discounted on amazon or abebooks.com
Then keep your eyes peeled for Lesley Herbert's "Complete Book of Sugar Flowers" in the same places.
Have a look at some Alan Dunn books if you are near a good bookshop. Some people can deal with them and some not.
